To: kxt@info.com Sender: owner-kxt Precedence: bulk I e-mailed the designer of that software asking if there was an english version of it. He said not yet, but hopefully soon. Also, he translated some of the menus for me. He is very willing to help anyone who needs it. Also, he mentioned the "Demo" version can read the switch, but can't upload data to it. I'm wondering if this can be bypassed by doing a modem connection????? The following is the e-mail he sent me... Hello, Kristian! I am glad you find my program interesting. Sorry, but english version doesn't exist now. I hope it takes me a pair of weeks to translate dialogs and help file - of course, I will inform you in that case. Demo you downloaded is near real tool - you can read PBX state, but back you can load only new value for time & date. To connect PBX and computer you need null-modem cable (valid pin-to-pin assignment is at the end of the file README.WRI) About Extension - yes, it is posible to swap extension between jacks with program. Look at the menu item 'Обмен Extension' = 'Swap Extensions' (this is a line at the end of long list of sub-menu items - this list contains such lines as 'XDP', 'ARS'; you need item below horozontal delimiter). In that dialog simply drag line with some extension to another jack position - extensions will be swapped. By default not only extension numbers are swapped - but all parameters for each phone (e.g. flexible keys assignment). This default behaviour can be changed by a check box on the right side of the dialog - in that case _only_ extension numbers are swapped. To simplify testing just drag a few phone icons from the toolbar into the one of the big window you can see after program starts (This window is titled 'Телефоны' = 'Phones'). In that case list in the dialog screen, mentioned above, will be not empty and you can test it. If you need any information quickly - I be glad to help you... Bye, Oleg E. And port 2 day can be custom service (like CS 12) residence - day and port two night can be custom service (like CS 22) residence nite, take a msg. There is a modem command to tell the modem to dial "blind" , without looking for the dialtone. Ironically, setting data mode (for modems) makes the station use studder dialtone, the last thing you would want to do! (My pana software is 90% there theory!) Hey pana, another station setting, dialtone studder (Enable/Disable). -larry ******************************************************** * To unsubscribe, e-mail kxt-request@info.com * * The KXT-Digest Home Page: http://www.info.com/kxt/ * ******************************************************** From owner-kxt Mon Jun 9 11:37:00 1997 Return-Path: Received: by bevo.info.com via sendmail with stdio id for kxt-outgoing; Mon, 9 Jun 1997 11:36:59 -0700 (PDT) (Smail-3.2.0.90 1996-Dec-4 #5 built 1997-Jan-9) Sender: owner-kxt Message-Id: Date: Mon, 9 Jun 1997 11:36:56 -0700 (PDT) From: Anthony Mckay Subject: KX-T: KXT1232 CPC detection To: kxt@info.com Sender: owner-kxt Precedence: bulk Please could anyone offer some advice. We have one of proprietary cinema information systems plugged into analogue extensions of a KXT 1232. We did not install the PBX itslef but this was done by a thrid party. Our telco has set up a CPC signal of 100ms on the CO lines and we have verified that they have done this correctly using a PC and some voice card software. The PBX installer has apparently enabled and set up CPC to 104 ms but we get no reorder tone at the extensions when the trunks clear. He has changed the setting to 62 ms but still no joy.. He did not seem very familiar with the system and I wondered if there is anything else that needs setting to make a reorder tone appear at the analogue extension. Any advice woiuld be greatly appreciated. Really the only thing it will do is put a reorder tone on the extension quickly. If your gear can detect the reorder tone, then the extension will be able to go on hook sooner. You can check to see if there is a reorder tone simply by replacing your gear with a single line phone, then call into the system from an outside line, transfer the call to the single line phone. Tell the person that called in to hang up. If you have CPC detection and it is working you will hear a reorder tone. If not you will probably have CO dial tone. This of course depends on your Central Office. If I can help with anything else please reply. You can determine your issue by looking at the silver tag on the side of the KSU. It was made in Great Britain and has a '3' in a circle above the model number. Panasonic makes the upgrade available for, I think, about $60-90. I am interested in finding out what Ver is in this box. Does this 3 tell me what Ver its running or is there some other way of finding out. Also, regarding the SLS, what should I use to set the SLS to a CO Number so that it rings when called from the outside and is directly connected when going off hook (the SLS is setup as a separete Ext) Will "Auto Designated CO Line Access" Code 41 do this ?? And lastly, can someone please explain to me this parallel Ext (7050 and SLS) using the same jack. Both these phones will operate on the 2-pair going into one Ext ??? How do I prog this ?? The home automation system can then decide which phone calls are directed to what extensions, based on time/caller-id/what have you. The diodes would not affect calls in progress. Using the 30810 in a residence is nice but this sort of filtering would be a nice addition to an already great system. If it works the system would be more versatile than ring groups. I'm using an APC BK200B back UPS for the 616. The morning after I installed the system, my customer was looking for an outlet to plug the coffee maker into, well he used the back UPS. About 0900, I got a frantic call from him on his cell phone, his system was dead, apparently, the back UPS had overloaded. The APC back UPS is rated at 130 Watts. Can anyone tell me how much current the 616 draws ?? Needless to say, I have since put in 3 SLS on ext 11,12,and 13, disabled them, and now just use them in case of a power outage. It works great, my customer did'nt believe they would work, so I went back and shut the ksu down, they worked great.
